About the show
Hosted by Cassie McCreary and Kellie Seghi, “Oddities: A Podcast of the Strangest by the Curious” is a comedy podcast at the intersection of all things spooky, or “spookala bookala,” and strange. From paranormal occurrences to weird history, true crime, extraterrestrials, strange weather, scientific phenomena, and everything in between, Oddities seeks to explain all things odd while serving up laughs…and maybe a little debunking along the way.
About the Hosts
Cassie McCreary
Growing up in a small New Jersey town, Cassie developed a love of all things science-y, odd, and spooky early in life. She spent her time doing all the usual things a millennial kid would do: having an Ouija board session at her ninth birthday party, making fun of those early horror phone chain messages (“pass this on to 10 friends or a demonic figure will crawl out from under your bed tonight!!!!”), and obsessing over the sunken Titanic and probable underwater ghosts lurking within.
Fast forward to adulthood, and Cassie’s studies, employment, and interests have remained eclectic as ever. With degrees in history, biology, emerging media, and biotechnology, and career highlights in clinical research, scientific marketing, and digital marketing under her belt, Cassie clearly enjoys a wide array of topics. She also likes to spend her free time with equally eclectic hobbies such as podcasting (obviously), horseback riding, playing the guitar, video games, and soon will be adding martial arts to that list. Cassie currently resides in Pennsylvania with her husband, two dogs (Donut, a corgi, and Boo, a labradoodle) and two cats (Spoop and Hobbes).
Kellie Seghi
Kellie Seghi, friendly neighborhood podcast co-host and crafty mom extraordinaire, unravels oddities on, of course, Oddities, while surprising those who think she’s just a quiet stay-at-home-mom.
Growing up in California she had plenty of strange things around her that always piqued her curiosity. Kellie had some pretty intense obsessions with the Titanic and Victorian-style fashion which led to a deeper interest in different era fashions, history, and oddities. When not deep-diving into research or laughing with her kiddos, you can find her outside, nose buried in a book, or getting her craft on. Join her on this strange and curious journey!
